When a guy born in 1953 tells you his first name is RYAN, he's probably a con-man

Site Created to Expose Impostor Priest

Free World Class Education

In February of this year, the Chicago Tribune ran a front page story on Father Ryan St. Anne Scott, a shady "priest" currently residing in Galesburg, Ill. Ryan is independent of any diocese, and he claims to have been a victim of sexual assault at the hands of a group of priests in 1976, which no one has been able to verify.

For a time, I was inclined to believe him. But, the more I found out about his background, the more I realized that Ryan is nothing more than a fraud.

Bobbie Fleming is the daughter of one of Ryan's followers, Roseanna Gevelinger, who resides with Scott at his "abbey." Fleming has created www.holyrosaryabbey.org, a website dedicated to exposing Ryan. (Ryan's own website is www.holyrosaryabbey.com)

Holyrosaryabbey.org has a wealth of information on Ryan, including photos. One is a mug shot. It's fitting.

Says Fleming:

"A social worker and her supervisors for elder abuse in Galesburg visited the abbey on three different occasions to interview several of his followers. My mother was one of them. Ryan was furious when the social worker spoke to one of them alone, behind locked doors. He didn't know she was there until it was too late for him to stop her.

We ask you, humbly: don't scroll away.

Hi readers, it seems you use Catholic Online a lot; that's great! It's a little awkward to ask, but we need your help. If you have already donated, we sincerely thank you. We're not salespeople, but we depend on donations averaging $14.76 and fewer than 1% of readers give. If you donate just $5.00, the price of your coffee, Catholic Online School could keep thriving. Thank you.

"She did inform me that my mother does not want any of us (her four children) contacted regarding anything about her, including if she passes away. I was told that a life insurance person was there to talk to my mother on each visit, which the social worker found odd.

"She did say that 'Frank' (another one of the elderly people who moved with Ryan from the shrine in North Dakota) and my mom are completely brainwashed, even after she showed my mother proof of Ryan's past and proof that he is a fraud. I've heard from numerous sources that Ryan has bragged that he has my mother's power of attorney, so unless she is proven mentally incompetent, which she is not, nothing can be done about it.

"At this point, I am sure that unless Ryan is stopped, my relationship with my mother is over, or at least, severely damaged. I don't want to see this happen to anyone else."

If you're going to scam people and pass yourself off as older than a Gen Xer, don't choose RYAN as a given name!
